The story of mankind begins in a garden, and all through that story the beauty of Nature, of God's creatures, has been meant to give and has given joy to the hearts of men. So, too, have the works of man's own hands; the beauty to be found in fine glassware and silver, or well-seasoned timber, Man is meant to learn something of the love of God from the loveliness of material things.
