Abstract
No one questions the vital need of the body for fluid. The literature and the personal experiences give testimony to the need for fluid to maintain life and well being. The dry mouth and throat associated with thirst produce an all encompassing drive to obtain water. "Anyone who has experienced severe thirst is acutely impressed with the fact that the thirsty man's chief concern is to be relieved of the torment of dryness in his mouth and respiratory tract.
