Abstract
The recruitment of qualified and talented teachers is the greatest challenge facing both public and private schools as we move into the next century. The number of qualified applicants for each open position is shrinking while the number of children in the schools is on the rise. The question this essay will answer is how do school districts go about the business of recruiting the quality teachers they need. The personnel office is charged with finding the teachers who will shape the -lives of our children and turn them into the leaders of society. This is an awesome responsibility.
