Abstract
The scientific foundation of pediatric practice is the knowledge that the child is different physically, mentally, and emotionally from an adult. In a unique way, his development is an ongoing dynamic process involving total integration of the whole child. He grows and interacts with his environment as a unit in mind, body, and personality. Each and every part or the child's nature has to grow--his sense of self; his rears; his feelings toward others; and his judgments and attitudes. In life itself and in his particular behavior, he reflects his constitution and experience.
