Abstract
This paper will examine attitudes toward wealth and poverty found in Luke's gospel, specifically focusing on an exegesis of Chapter 12:13-34. It will attempt to demonstrate that although Luke develops a radical criticism toward wealth, he is more concerned with calling the faithful to make a radical commitment to seek the kingdom of God. Wealth is portrayed as a major stumbling block in making such a commitment.
