Abstract

Recent Literature on the Jn 10,1-18 pericope presents a wide assortment of theories to meet the problems of interpretation in the passage. The first section of this essay attempt to deal with those theories in their relation to the major difficulties of the text: the structure of the passage, its relation to Jn 9, and its literary form. After studying the text and its background in other literature, certain theological conclusions can be expressed.
