Abstract
The purpose of this Essay was to collect and organize all federal bills introduced into the Senate and the House of Representatives from 1946 to 1952 inclusive which were of specific or related interest to the nursing profession. In addition to listing these bill s, there is also an attempt to present the story of group professional thought and action in regard to the more important issues. It was not possible to follow up all of these federal bills in the source materials available. Of those which were followed through, some "died in committee;" others were "tabled;" and some became Public Laws. A few major issues were still pending at the close of 1952.
