Abstract
The full affect and the influence of the progressive educational movement has not been felt until the present era. The rising criticisms of the results of our present educational methods are increasing. Many criticisms of the American system of education will, of necessity, point to the Ineffectiveness of our teachers and the role they play in developing those who will make up the society in which we live. Since the reputation of the teaching profession is being weighed in the balance, it was felt that a study of the characteristics of a limited number of students who are preparing for the teaching profession would be of value.
