Abstract
Today more than ever the issue of day care has come to the forefront due to the unprecedented need for surrogate attention of children from the ages of birth to five years. Articles can be found frequently in the newspapers and magazines that report on the growing numbers of children requiring day care due to their mothers' needing to enter the work force (Trends, 1987).
