Abstract

Reading studies made over a period of many years state that no one specific method of teaching is suitable to all children, to all teachers, and in all reading situations, There is ample evidence that no one method is used in its pure form to the exclusion of all others, Although acknowledging other methods of reading instruction, this paper is geared mainly to a comparison of two contemporary phonics teaching procedures.
