Abstract
Parochial education has been a part of this country since early colonial times when churches controlled the only schools. Suggestions for the financing of parochial schools have ranged from total parental support, through full tuition charges, to total governmental support, through subsidies; however, to date no perfect method has been found. This paper reviews the effects of a method one Lutheran congregation initiated in an attempt to alleviate the financial burden of its parochial school.
