Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine what the relationship at the grade school level is between reading disability and emotional instability. Some investigators question the claim that poor readers invariably or even generally display emotional maladjustment. On the other hand, some writers assert that personality disorders are general characteristics of disabled readers. Others say that no child can long be a serious reading problem without presenting emotional disturbances to some degree.
