Abstract
The object of this paper is to present the basic theory of Lp spaces. Since we have limited time and capacity, there will be a number of things that the reader will be assumed to have a knowledge of. The paper will start with measurable spaces, moving toward a definition of a measure space. Once here we introduce a few theorems, basic to the development and definition of the Lebesgue integral. Having set down the preliminaries we immediately proceed to define Lp spaces.
