Abstract

Perhaps it is an understatement (certainly a cliche) to say that there is considerable chaos in the "global village." Instant communication makes us painfully aware of war in Vietnam, famine in Biafra, earthquake in Iran, flood in England, armed oppression in Czechoslovakia, revolution in the universities, rioting in America and controversy in the Church. The guru of the global village, Marshall McLuhan, has chided the communications media for being preoccupied with chaos. "Bad news is news; good news is advertising."
