Abstract
Parents entrust to the school part of the education which they are responsible for providing for their children. A mutual, friendly relationship between home and school which includes the elements of keeping parents informed of their child is progress and development, seeking their cooperation, and cultivating a favorable attitude on their part toward school, has been accepted as essential in promoting the effectiveness of the school in the community. As Hand says, "The school can not afford to lose sight of the fact that parents will act on the basis of the attitudes they hold, even though these attitudes be mistaken."
