Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the extent of Soviet imperialism in Poland and China. Since 1945, many accusations have been hurled against the leaders of the United States, Great Britain, and the Soviet Union. Critics during these twenty years have claimed that President Franklin D. Roosevelt, particularly, betrayed China and Poland by surrendering these countries to Marshal Joseph Stalin at the Yalta Conference. They stated that Roosevelt conceded vast territories to the Soviet dictator because the President was ill and did not understand the implications of the agreed terms at Yalta. They wrote that Prime Minister Winston Churchill did not agree with the Yalta terms but signed the document because he was afraid Stalin would not declare war against Japan or would refuse to join the United Nations. Hence the critics posited the Yalta agreement as an overt act of bribery.
My special problem is to investigate whether these accusations can be justified in facts. Did the Yalta Accord provide for Soviet control of China and Poland or are these countries communistic today because the Yalta terms were not carried to their final conclusion?
