Abstract
To Teach as Jesus Did, a pastoral message on Catholic Education, was issued by the National Conference of Catholic Bishops in November 1972.
This pastoral message, while representing the view of the American bishops and holding them, only, responsible for its views, reflects the insights of persons from a variety of backgrounds and interests in the Catholic Church as well as from the whole world community at large. While much of this consultation took place on the more impersonal level of the nation, the majority occurred at the local diocesan level where bishops solicited the views of people who might have an insight, thought or expertise on the subject.
