Abstract

The selection and training of future priests has been a constant, demanding concern for the Roman Catholic Church since its inception as the salvation-community established by Jesus Christ. For it is but through men that the message of salvation reaches other men by the design of the Redeemer. To select these "vehicles of salvation" due advice was offered by the very men Christ had chosen to continue his mission.
