Abstract
There are no indications in Medieval chronicles that the year 1300 was viewed in a particularly unusual manner. There were some tumors, as there had been throughout the earlier Middle Ages, that the turn of the century would herald the end of the world. Natural phenomena were carefully recorded; astrologers kept a careful account of the movements of the heavenly bodies; and the people continued to work their land and care for their families as best they could.
