Abstract
Advances in technology and telecommunications have "tightened" the world's ecological structure. This, along with our awesome capability to end all life on planet Earth by nuclear war, requires school administrators to view their work from a different perspective. Comparative education, because of its content and method, seems ideally suited to be considered by educational leaders as a valuable resource. This essay will survey the field of comparative education and attempt to evaluate whether research from the field has practical value for the school administrator living and working in a "global village".
