Abstract

This study was prompted by the current interest in, and the need for guidance programs at the elementary level. Based on the assumption that the classroom teacher is a vital member of the guidance team, and is in a key position to foster personal and social development in the classroom, a program was prepared that would aid the teacher in performing this important task. The suggested program integrated various guidance techniques with the language arts curriculum in the intermediate grades.
