Abstract
This paper is intended to give an introduction to some of the basic concepts and definitions of the theory of fuzzy sets. More complex ideas are presented in a intuitive fashion later, with a number of examples to illustrate the ideas. The ideas of a fuzzy logic and fuzzy algorithms are elaborated upon, and the ideas are suggested towards an application in system modelling, and another in artificial intelligence .
