Abstract

Reasons for performing a study such as this can often become very complex. The predominating motivation in the development of this study was the desire to create an understanding of the situation among those in the profession and for those looking at the profession. The matter of extra pay for extra work is no longer the real issue. It is necessary that teachers rededicate themselves to those ideals which make teaching so different from the ordinary job. However, it is also imperative that the total contribution of teacher effort be recognized.
