Abstract
Recent statistics of the American Cancer Society state that 900,000. Americans will be under medical care for cancer in 1968. It is predicted that 570,000 new cancer patients will be diagnosed, and that 300, 000 people will die of this dread disease in 1968. Cancer has become the second most common cause of death in the United States. One of every six Americans will develop cancer sometime during his life-time; one of three who develop the disease will be cured, but for the rest death is inevitable. Every two minutes someone will die of cancer in the United States.
