Abstract
This essay details the many hours of work, both mental and physical, that went into designing and constructing the automotive engine testing facility that now resides in the basement of the Marquette Engineering Building.
These pages contain coverage of the various systems necessary for a complete and successful engine test stand. Additional in-depth explanations of certain systems will be presented to bring to light certain aspects of the design which may not be readily apparent, and to explain the reasons behind certain decisions and why alternate methods or solutions were not employed.
It is my hope that this paper will provide insights and guidance to students who might work to further improve upon what I believe to be a firm foundation for a versatile and successful engine testing lab.
