Abstract

St. Xavier's Kathmandu is the school where the writer has been working prior to his coming here. He is associated with the school for the last eight years, and that is where he will be working after completion of the degree here. During the course of studies here the writer has been considering how he can apply what he learns here to St. Xavier's Kathmandu. So, the purpose of this essay is to develop some proposals for improvement in some areas of administration at this school. This will particularly be useful for if he is to be an administrator of the same school sometime in the future.

Chapter one will be an introduction to the country(Nepal), its people, culture, educational history, the beginning of St. Xavier's school and so on. The subsequent chapters will deal with theories of management/ management styles, personnel management, school community relations, parental involvement, and financial administration.

This is not a research paper. Most of the facts about the country, city, and especially the school will be from the writer's personal experience. On the basis of the courses taken here, a review of literature will be done for the different topics that are dealt with in the essay.
