Abstract

The literature of educational administration theory and practice in the 1980 ' s is being heavily influenced by the extensive research and writing in the field of business leadership and management theory and practice. The history of change in educational administration has moved from Scientific Management, lo Human Relations Management and Human Resources Theory, to the "political perspective ", and finally to the current "cultural perspective". The literature of the 1980 ' s is directed toward "effective" schools with focus on organizational culture, school climate. values and beliefs emphasis, and principal leadership.
