Abstract

The Guidance Department of Waukesha Catholic Memorial High School (C.M.H.) is aware of students' need to obtain current career information, to facilitate their career development. The goal of this essay is to develop a plan for a career resource center at C.M.H. The center will provide career information and services to the target group, C.M.H. students, 9-12, to help them make realistic career plans. This goal will be accomplished through/acquisition and organization of career materials and outreach plans designed to acquaint students with career and educational information that will aid in development of their personal career profiles and of their decision-making skills. Center newsletters will increase student, parent and faculty awareness and knowledge in this area. Career organization from the Dictionary of Occupational Titles will be used. The guidance facility and staff will be utilized. Ongoing and year-end evaluations will be conducted.
