Abstract

One of the very enjoyable aspects of being a graduate student is the opportunity to swap ideas and sentiments with people from a variety of perspectives. I remember one evening at class when I had the privilege of comparing notes with a Roman Catholic nun. We were discussing our respective and similar ministries when she asked if we in the Lutheran church were finding that our kids no longer knew what they believed. The sincerity and frustration in her voice grabbed my heart. Her concern connected with very profound questions of my own regarding the teaching of faith and life to young Christians.
