Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to explore the strategy of peer facilitation in the school setting. As counselors, and other helping professionals within schools, are continuously striving to enhance the helping services available to students. The thrust of this paper will be on the development of a peer facilitation curriculum for middle schoolers. Chapter I will be an introduction to peer facilitation: terms will be defined, assumptions· and limitations provided. The literature is reviewed in Chapter II. Curricula for the training of peer facilitators are reviewed in Chapter III. A peer facilitation curriculum aimed at the middle school level is developed in Chapter IV. Chapter V concludes the essay.
