Abstract

This paper is primarily concerned with the role of the principal in supervision. Since the principal is ultimately responsible for the improvement of teaching and learning in his school, it therefore, apparently follows that the principal is also responsible for super vis ion. In order to be effective, there are several basic skills that are necessary on the part of the supervisor. In addition to these skills there are various techniques by which the supervisor can assist teachers in developing their fullest professional potential and consequently provide a quality education.
