Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to generalize some of the elementary theorems on infinite series. Most works on this subject are limited to a study of infinite series in the real and complex number systems. In these works, it is shown that some theorems hold in both the real and complex number systems, while others are true for only real numbers; but it is not apparent to the reader what basic differences between the two systems cause this. It is hoped that, by generalizing the spaces in which the theorems are prov ed, that some of the reasons for some of the theorems holding in both systems and others only in one can be illustrated.
