Abstract

The philosophy of Milwaukee Area Technical College - "Meeting an individual where he is and guiding him as far as he can go" - aids in my selection of a vocational/educational problem: The Student with the Hidden Handicap - a Learning Disability. Working with the learning disabled adult is a new field yet to be defined in literature. But MATC is attempting to aid such an individual who manifests symptoms that are classified as "learning disabled" in the child but are magnified in terms of contrast between his adult needs and his abilities.
