Abstract

A seller can minimize the risk of credit sales by utilizing a financial rating service which provides its subscribers with a rating based upon past debt management.1 However , a buyer seeking quality material finds no similar quality rating service. While some companies rate their vendors for the quality of their material , the ratings are not necessarily available to others . Rating systems vary widely from company to company both in organization, and in the interpretation of the results . The economics of investigating a potential supplier by consulting other companies might be forbidding.
