Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine Luther's view of man in his lectures on Romans and on Hebrews, and to consider the possibility of a change in his thought, or a development, in the work of 1515-16 and that of 1517-18, Part one of the paper will be a short' introduction into the anthropological questions of Luther's tradition, Part two will be an exposition of Luther's anthropology in each of the lectures and the third part will deal with the similarities and differences in the two lectures.
