Abstract
Today we hear and read about the nurse and her relationship to the mother during labor and delivery . There has been an attempt by specialists in the clinical area to determine whether goals of nursing have been nurse or patient centered . It appears that maternity nurses like to feel that their nursing care is directed toward the well- being of the patient , which encompasses physical, emotional , social, spiritual , and psychological needs .
