Abstract
Prediction of scholastic success in college has long occupied the tune and talents of educators. Since the early 1900 's there has been much research done in an effort to work out a formula for the prediction of the probable success of students in college. Psychological assessment of success has been done on an a priori basis, i.e., the test construction personnel devise the model of the "good student." Using this model as a basis, they select, or devise tests which will best isolate students matching this model. Validation studies are run. If low coefficients of correlation result, blame is often placed on the tests.
