Abstract
Is it more advantageous for an investor to invest in an investment company? If so, is there a significant difference between the two types of mutual funds available to an investor? What does the Securities and Exchange Commission have to say about sales charges that are deducted from investments in some mutual funds? What are some of the important factors to consider when selecting a mutual fund? These are some of the questions that need to be tackled in order to help an investor seeking clarifications on the controversy about mutual funds. The problem may be succinctly stated as to whether or not there is a significant difference between the performance of the two types of mutual funds, namely, load funds and no-load funds.
