Abstract
The Monadology presents a hierarchy of monads varying in quality one from another. Certain of these monads are soul monads, which are dominant monads of men, either as souls or minds. This paper proposes to investigate the Rational Universe with emphasis on man as dominated by soul monad in the philosophy of Leibniz. In the Monadology Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz set down a concise statement of his metaphysical system, which was then and is now complete and consistent with his other writings to a higher degree than found in most philosophers. Using this strength of Libniz's thought, we are justified in looking for clarification of a position found in the Monadology in his other available work. We propose to do this with the problem of the human soul monad as related to the universe as explained by Leibniz.
