Abstract

Clinical depression is a severe psychological disturbance that significantly interferes with an individual's normal daily functioning. It is widely agreed that depression is related both to biological factors, such as temperament and genetics, and to psychological factors, such as attribution style. However, little research to date has examined whether depressogenic attribution style may also be related to genetics. The purpose of this study was to determine whether a relationship exists among attributional style, temperament, and genetics.
