Abstract
Ever since its recognition, many mysteries have surrounded and still surround the syndrome of agranulocytosis even though it has been a frequent subject of research. Utilizing the fruits of clinical and hematological observations of previous ,investigators, a review of twenty-two cases of agranulocytosis observed at Milwaukee County General Hospital since the year 1933 is presented with particular attention to the clinical and hematological patterns exhibited by them, the interrelationships of these patterns, and the effects that the use of effective therapeutic measures has had on their characteristics. A study of fifty-two unselected thiouracil-induced cases, gathered from the literature, has also been done as further corroborative evidence of the inter-relationships of these disease patterns.
