Abstract

A vocation to the priesthood is a call from God, given to a young man to enter His service. Christ said to His first priests, "You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you." The parents and pastor of a young man who feels he has a vocation to the priesthood have the obligation of fostering and encouraging it. The necessary graces will come from God and the human instruments must be able to recognize and make use of them. Therefore, any single factor or group of factors which would deter a young man who feels he has a vocation from entering the minor seminary demands serious consideration by those entrusted with the education of future priests. This study has been undertaken to throw new light upon one possible deterring factor.
