Abstract
It is not my intention to portray a complete picture of de Gaulle. The following report covers only a few phases of de Gaulle's life. I have discussed briefly his early life, his theories concerning military warfare, the causes for the surrender of France in 1940, the organization of the Free French and a little of the criticism that has been directed toward de Gaulle.
