Abstract
Women's and men's issues are discussed, written about and studied in great numbers today. Our society has great interest in them. Gilligan broke ground in the late seventies with her theory of moral development which identified a "voice" of care and response found mainly in the responses of women to moral questions and problems. This essay seeks to determine what aspects of Gilligan's theory of moral development can be supported through an individual case study with an adolescent female. It also seeks to determine what the researcher can learn of Gilligan's theory through this individual case study.
