Creator's notes: A staff representing the way energy can be worn as a kind of cosplay while navigating this consensual reality of late stage capitalist landscape while creatively engaging others in play as we go about the tasks of day to day life. Developed from the process of developing a radically reciprocal relationship with the Kinnikinnick River.
I created this staff as a piece of art and healing while I was actively engaging in the Neurodivergent behaviors related to Pathological Demand Avoidance aka Pervasive Drive for Autonomy aka actively escaping the matrix aka trying to walk the line between living in late stage capitalism with significant PTSD and embodying living from a place of rest, play, ease, pleasure, joy and abundance.

Comments
I observed the different ways and processes other artists used to bring things to life. I was particularly inspired by the identity piece and being in a box. Everything about my identity and how I relate in the world is outside of the box. I was also inspired by the rawness of the image as a person who is a naturist and is very limited by the constraints of dominant culture of being textiled at all times - aka wearing clothing. The staff has been a process of me embodying my own Queerness and Trasness and what that looks like for me in terms of gender affirming and queer affirming/welcoming/friendly spaces and places in my life. The staff provides a kind of safety and reminder I am empowered to take care of myself while in my raw, naked energy in the world and being seen and perceived in my authentic self as I walk in it in new ways.
