Abstract
Bariatric surgery is an effective treatment option for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and refractory obesity. Patients who have undergone bariatric surgery have indicated continued weight loss and improved control or remission of diabetes (Houlden et al., 2018). Use of shared medical appointments may support efforts to actualize remission for patients with type 2 DM who undergo bariatric surgery.
