Abstract
This thesis takes a thematic approach to three of Shakespeare's early works. The Sonnets, Venus and Adonis and The Rape of Lucrece and aims to demonstrate a consistency between all three in the treatment of love relationships, with particular reference to lust, narcissism and chastity.
