Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine, through a testing and therapeutic procedure, whether a structured or individualized therapy approach, if either, would be more helpful to students whose native language was not English. In accordance with this goal, audio tapes of six foreign students registered at an American university for the first time were made before and after therapy. These tapes were analyzed for articulatory and idiomatic proficiency so that comparison could be made between the two types of therapy given; structured and individualized. It was hoped that the results of this study might lead to a more effective plan of speech therapy.
