Abstract
This study examines the ,role of the symphony conductor in terms of communication and leadership. From my experiences with conductors, I believe that managing a group can be as important as directing them. During the course of this study I received many positive reactions from the musicians and conductors I worked with. Many said they looked forward to seeing the final results and several felt such research would be of value to conductors and musicians alike.
