Abstract
The purpose of this thesis will be to discover whether or not the opinions of readers are more likely to be swayed by Press Association reports or by the articles of Special Correspondents; whether or not the correspondents' stories are likely to be more colored and biased than reports coming from the Associations; whether or not the pictures drawn by the Special Correspondents were more comprehensive than that of the Press Associations. An attempt will be made to discover whether or not correspondents or associations reports "colored the news" and how such dispatches tended to influence public opinion.
